WHAT IS HE LEARNING IN MPD?
"I used to think Ministry Partner Development (MPD) was an afterthought to God's plan, but now I am convinced MPD is a God-thing. It is central to His purposes. Fundraising is not simply 'getting money'. It is part of the process of God restoring His holy order. God gives us all privilege of being involved with His work to advance the Kingdom both as a receiver and giver."
WHAT KEEPS HIM GOING IN MPD?
"Realizing that people give to God—not primarily to me—and He touches them. It's not about 'my needs.' When I invite people to give to God's work, sometimes I'm surprised when they decide not to give, but even a 'no' means they have prayed about a stewardship decision—and this is good. God uses me to connect people more closely to His work."
"Psalm 73:28—But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, that I may tell all of Your works. This passage grabbed me when I saw that what is needed in Africa (in addition to better water, better infrastructure, etc) is a change in the hearts of our people. That's the gospel!"
WHAT HE'S READING
"I just finished Revolution of Character by Dallas Willard. I'm also reading What the Dog Saw about the fact that underdogs have something to say to us."
